Every day, employees around the world find themselves in career-defining speaking situations. Business presentations often involve high stakes not only for an individual but also for the organization as a whole. Sysbiz has rightly embarked on the journey of making effective oral communication and Leadership building a reality for its employees by forming Sysbiz Toastmasters Club.
Toastmasters International is the leading movement devoted to helping men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking – vital skills that promote self actualization, enhance leadership potential, foster human understanding and contribute to the betterment of mankind.
Toastmasters provide many opportunities for members to practice positive leadership skills. Even schools and universities don’t offer this type of training. In Toastmasters program there are no classrooms. Learning takes place in the club environment. Members learn by doing and by watching fellow club members. There are no instructors; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved upon.
Most Toastmasters meetings are comprised of approximately 20 people who meet weekly for an hour or two. Participants practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian. Thus not only will a member learn speaking and leadership skill but also be recognized for their efforts.
In line with the objectives of the Toastmasters club, Sysbiz has been chartered as a corporate club. The sole purpose being the use of Toastmasters as a platform for self development and fostering comradeship in knowledge and skill transfer.
Every Monday , Sysbiz Toastmasters Club members meet, present Prepared speech, Table topics and take up varying roles - a tried and tested method for overall personality development.
